The study of accountability is paramount to every worshipper's journey.
Accountability precedes atonement. God is demanding dialogue, that we come to reason with Him, so He shows us our true state, so we can be purged of all the weights of sin and baggage that iniquity brings.
Accountability Layers
1. Accountability of Humans is the level where account is demanded on the individual level. This refers to personal responsibility. Each individual is held accountable for their actions, decisions, and behaviors. Spiritually, humans will answer for their choices before the Lord.
2. Accountability of Animals is the level where accounts are demanded from animals. The Lord has assigned a level of responsibility to animals, as seen in Genesis 9, that any animal that sheds the blood of a human will be held responsible. - And surely the blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.- Genesis 9:5
3. Accountability of Generations is the level where accountability is demanded from an entire generation. This layer addresses the collective responsibility of an entire generation. This has to do with how God holds groups or communities of people are held accountable for the impact they have on the world, whether socially, behaviorally, or spiritually. This might be reflected in how future generations pay for the decisions and actions of the previous generation. You see this after King Hezekiah died.
4. Accountability of Parents is when the Lord demands from parents the account of their children. This level is the responsibility that parents have for their children. Parents are accountable for the upbringing, guidance, and moral direction of their children.
Atonement of Sins.
Once the level of accountability is concluded, atonement is next. This is where the blood of Jesus comes in. Across the Scriptures, we find that the blood of animals were used for atonement, which
Practical Steps:
Look at yourself in the mirror and take responsibility for your actions, you'll find favor in God's Presence.
Intercede for lost generations.
