Advanced Prophetic Teaching: The Jerusalem Encounter

By Ebenezer Gabriels Worship Discipleship

Jerusalem - behold your king! A symbolic arrival of God into His Holy Temple, "The whole city of Jerusalem will be my throne. All nations will come here to worship me.." Jeremiah 3:17

The covenant of the heavenly Jerusalem is the pact in which worshippers who are grafted into the household of faith, the covenant of the commonwealth of Israel are sealed. Obtainable through worship by the act of obedience to await the descent of God's Spirit in the Jerusalem of His choosing at the right time; for the worshipper to be filled up with the power for their life's assignment and receive the Holy Spirit into their bodily temple, becoming fully transformed into the image of the heavenly tabernacle and a dwelling place of God's Presence, sanctified by the Father for truthful and spiritual worship here on earth.

The Jerusalem encounter is an encounter of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost upon the early disciples. This encounter crowns the sealing of the live power of God upon the sons of God for their assignments in the world.

The Jerusalem encounter of the Holy Spirit is a symbol of what takes place when spiritual grafting occurs; when gentiles who have become united to the Father through the blood of the Son become sealed with the Holy Spirit.

The Jerusalem encounter is symbolic of the chosen place where the Holy Spirit will descend --- In Luke 24:49, Jesus tells his disciples, "And behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you; but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high".

Jesus' symbolic Jerusalem encounter was by the river Jordan. An acknowledgment from the Father usually follows the Jerusalem encounter;

Matthew 3:16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."
