Has God Ever Called Your Name and You Shunned Him?

Have You Ever Heard God Called Your Name and You Shunned His Voice?

The first time God called Samuel's name, Samuel did not recognize God's Voice, because the Word of God had not yet been in Daniel. Have you ever heard someone called your name and you ran to your parents, "did you just call me"? and they said, 'No". Perhaps, that was God calling your name.

Many of us heard God's voice audibly when He called our name like He called Samuel's name, we just didn't  get it that was God calling us. So instead of giving our attention to God, we shut the door against His voice.

Like Samuel, many have no idea they shunned God's voice, until they got a revelation of the knowledge of God.

You may be wondering, "How do I answer a God I have never seen before"? Why does God call my name?

God calls our name because He wants to reveal Himself to us, so we can worship Him.

Eli, an older prophet, who had experienced God, delivered Samuel from ignorance and mentored Samuel into his ministry, saying, when next you hear His voice, just respond and say "Speak Lord, Your Servant is listening".

Have you ever shunned the voice of God and lost the voice of God, that your soul no longer hears God - Sing this song of the Holy Spirit? Draw inspiration from the song IN THIS ROOM, a song inspired by the story of Samuel the Prophet, who was in the room, and could not identify God's voice until the Word was revealed to you.

Scriptures: 2 Samuel 3:7-11

7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord: The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him. 8 A third time the Lord called, Samuel!" And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, Here I am; you called me." Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. 9 So Eli told Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, 'Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening."So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" Then Samuel said, Speak, for your servant is listening.” 11 And the Lord said to Samuel: "See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it tingle.

How Do We Worship God?

How do we worship a God that we cannot see or touch? How do we know the best way to worship Him? How do we know what results to get from worship? What does worship look like?

Is worship the unexplainable things we see around us everyday, or the procession of the musicians or just the sermons? Is the worship of God manifested when we see a televangelist dress naked on the pulpit? Is worship on display when we see the guy on the pulpit perform "miracles"?

How do we understand worship?  Does God accepts our excuses for not worshipping Him because we simply dont understand what worship is?

The revelation of Worship is only found in the Word of God, which gives us the knowledge of God for the God we worship.
